Career Highlights: Lisa Cornwell is the anchor of the Golf Channel’s signature news show, “Golf Central.” Cornwell joined the network in 2014 bringing considerable experience in both golf and television. Her on-air career started in local television where she reported for NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliate stations in Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio. Cornwell served as a studio host, reporter, and play-by-play announcer for the Big Ten Network and she also hosted a college football show titled “SEC Press Pass,” a syndicated show she founded in 2011. An accomplished junior golfer, she had hoped to parlay it into a professional career. Cornwell was a three-time All-American junior golfer, a four-time Arkansas Women’s State Amateur Champion (winning her first title at a record age of 14), and the 1992 Arkansas Female Athlete of the Year. Cornwell, who won more than 30 tournaments nationwide during her playing years, also played collegiate golf for Southern Methodist University and the University of Arkansas. Cornwell has played numerous rounds of golf with her cousin, former President Bill Clinton.
