Career Highlights: Professional race car driver Michael Waltrip is a two-time winner of the prestigious Daytona 500, having won the race in 2001 and 2003. Waltrip currently drives part-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, is a co-owner of Michael Waltrip Racing, and also is an analyst for NASCAR on FOX. Waltrip’s career spans more than 30 years and besides the Daytona 500, he is a two-time Gatorade Duel winner, and he posted more than 130 top-ten finishes on the Sprint Cup Series including four titles and four pole positions. He has 11 wins and more than 105 top-ten finishes in his NASCAR Xfinity Series career and even has a win and four top-10s on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He made his Sprint Cup driving debut in the 1985 Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he also won the 1996 NASCAR Sprint All-Star race, as well as the 1991 and 1992 Winston Open and 1995 Winston Select. In 2011 Waltrip also competed in 24 Hours of Le Mans. A published author, Waltrip’s book “In the Blink of an Eye,” spent 11 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list in 2011.
