Patrick Mahomes II
NFL MVP QB: Kansas City Chiefs
Career Highlights: Patrick Mahomes II is currently the starting quarterback for the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft, he spent his first season in the NFL as a backup to Alex Smith, but was named the starter for the 2018 season. That year, he had one of the best debut campaigns of all time. He threw for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions on his way to the NFL MVP Award. He is currently the only QB to ever throw for over 5,000 yards in a season in both college and the NFL. He is also only the third player in NFL history to throw 50 touchdowns in a single season, joining Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. He followed that outstanding season by leading the Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LIV and earning Super Bowl MVP honors. Son of former Major League pitcher Pat Mahomes, he attended college at Texas Tech. Despite only playing two full seasons, he already owns 10 NFL Record and six Chiefs franchise records
